Basic English -Are you a beginner? Start here!
Conversational English -Listening comprehension, speaking & vocabulary to fit your goals of fluency in conversation.
Business English - Choose this if you are a professional or academic. This class will give you a better understanding of the following:
- academic & professional vocabulary
- casual language for professional settings
- nuance & tone
- e-mail/text language & structure
Accent Reduction-Your accent is BEAUTIFUL! We only want to refine it to make sure you are clearly understood. (Pronunciation, Phonics, Speaking, Listening Comprehension)
Practical Practice (Audio-Only)-Do you want to gain fluency in speaking? Do you want multiple, short classes a week to help you get there? This class is for you. It will strengthen your speaking skills including pronunciation & vocabulary. This class is best for students who are: committed to at least 2 classes a week, already Intermediate English speakers, & able to commit to at least 4 weeks of this class. This is to help your learning be consistent and focused. This class is audio only (there is no video of Teacher Kesa).

Reading & Writing

Reading Comprehension -How to go from, “I don’t understand anything I read,” to “Wait! I MIGHT like reading!”
Reading Strategies for Advancement-There are learnable skills to make academic reading and reading for pleasure EASY! If you want to eliminate struggle from reading, start here!
Phonics, Vocabulary, & Spelling-If you get “lost” in the words on a page, have trouble saying or spelling most of what you try to read, start here.
Writer’s Workshop-A mini, modified version of what we teach in schools as part of the National Writing Project. Start here if you struggle getting ideas on paper or finding your unique voice AND you are willing to commit to at least 6 sessions (25 minutes each). Developing your voice, confidence, skill set and goals as a writer, and using mentor texts for inspiration are the basis for this class and take a commitment.

Essay Emergency!!!-”Help! I have an essay and I don’t know where to start! Or where to finish!” Bring your assignment and your ideas, and we’ll hammer it out with clarity, focus, ease & grace!
Reading Skills & Strategies -If you are struggling with the massive amounts of college reading, & how to effectively retain the important information, start here.

Mommie & Me Literacy!® -Named in honor of what I called my mother, Mommie. A way for caregivers (Moms OR Dads—one at a time, please!) to learn beginning reading, listening and speaking skills with your young one! Model literacy with them! This class is designed to be accessible. It is inexpensive and short to accommodate young children’s growing brains.
Women’s Literacy Group -This small group class is offered on a rotating basis. It is limited to 4 women and is designed to be accessible. It meets once a week for 4 weeks. It requires a 4 week commitment and focuses on aggressively improving your speaking, listening, and reading skills in a safe and trusting community of women. The current class is full.
